Tax Billing Information
Current taxes are due
and payable on or before October 31, 2021. Payment must be received by
the RM of Ritchot on or before October 31, 2021. All taxes remaining unpaid
subsequent to the last business day shall be subject to penalty charges at the
rate of 1.0% per month. Penalties are for the whole month, and they are applied
the first day of the month. The penalties on the arrears that are shown on your
annual Tax Statement are calculated to December 31 of the prior year only.
Arrears will be subject to further penalties. If there are arrears on your
statement it is best to contact our office prior to payment for total amounts due.
The 2021 discount rates for early payment will be:
June - 1.5%
July - 1.5%
August - 1.5%
September - 1.0%
The RM of Ritchot accepts payments of taxes, utilities, and invoices in person via debit card, cash or cheque, by mail including post-dated cheques, or via on-line banking through your financial institution. To use on-line banking contact your financial institution to set up your account. Please include the portion of your bills with the account or Roll number if you are mailing in cheques to ensure that the proper account is credited.

The property owners name and address which appears on your tax statement is in accordance with the latest information and advice which has been made available to the Municipality. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE MUNICIPAL OFFICE BE ADVISED PROMPTLY OF ANY CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP OR MAILING ADDRESS IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THE TAX BILL IS PROPERLY FORWARDED. It should be noted for future reference that failure to receive a bill does not excuse an owner from liability for any late payment penalty. Tax arrears and penalties must be paid in full before payment can be applied to current taxes.
Properties in tax arrears for longer than one year may be sold for taxes.

Address changes can be made directly through the Municipal office or online Here
. Any changes to ownership or names must be made through the
Winnipeg Land Titles Office at 1-844-737-5684.

Board of Revision
For persons wishing to appeal their 2022 assessments, the Board of Revision will be held on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021. Applications for appeal must be received at the Municipal office Monday, September 27th, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. The amount of annual taxes on the tax notice cannot be appealed.
