Park Maintenance Worker

Date: October 27th 2021

Name of Position: Winter Program Park Maintenance Worker  

Location: Grande Pointe Park

Position Date:  Mid November to February 26th 2022 – minimum of 15 hours a week, with possibility of more hours.

Salary: $15, 00 / hr                                                                           


Are you self-motivated and enjoy working outside?  The GPHA is seeking 2 interested individuals with strong organizational and leadership skills to maintain the park and help with winter programs for families. These positions will be integral to the delivery of outdoor recreation experiences in conjunction with the Municipality of Ritchot using the Grande Pointe Park assets including the outdoor rink, river trail and cross country ski trails.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all winter infrastructure including the outdoor rink, trails and fire pit
  • Maintain walkways and entrances to the warm up shack and recreation center
  • Clean and maintain the warm up shack and bathrooms
  • Assist the Ritchot Recreation Program Coordinator with family activities at the park
  • Provide a safe and engaging environment for all to participate in active recreation
  • Supervise and participate in activities associated with programs
  • Ensure safety regulations are being followed including regulations set forth in the Public Health Order 
  • Maintain program equipment 
  • Communicate regularly with community members and the Grande Pointe Homeowners Assoc.



  • Experience in park/grounds maintenance
  • Knowledge and experience in physical activity and sports 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age up to 30 years and must be enrolled as a full-time student in the current academic year or intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next year
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR C is considered an asset
  • Priority will be given to local residents
